MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Greater East St. Louis Community Fund is to work to benefit the residents of East St. Louis and Brooklyn, Illinois in accordance with the directives of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.  It is further the mission of the Fund to help the residents of East St. Louis and Brooklyn move up and out of poverty and to improve the Greater East St. Louis community and, in turn, to give back to and encourage others to work to benefit the communities of East St. Louis and Brooklyn.


The Greater East St. Louis Community Fund is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

•  To serve the residents of East St. Louis and Brooklyn, Illinois
  To support and sustain the mission statement of the Fund
  To be upstanding financial stewards of the Fund
  To encourage philanthropy from Board members, beneficiaries and partners of the Fund
  To be always respectful of residents of East St. Louis and Brooklyn, Illinois, Board members, Staff, and all those who have any kind of relationship with the Fund
  To support programs that will have broad, lasting impact on the Greater East St. Louis Community
  To promote continuous learning for Board members, partners and collaborators
  To be public stewards of the Greater East St. Louis Community
